Porpoise Spit

So I have been noticing lately just HOW relevant the 'Muriels Wedding' costume design is at the moment. Who ever thought that Porpoise Spit would make it onto the style radar (again?).... I have found myself looking back to the evil 'friends' for, how can I say, well...inspiration. Tania Degano ("I'm married! I'm beautiful!) and the troupe of beach bum babes have been coming to mind a lot of late as I observe some current summer trends.

High waisted, buttoned down, crisp white against Reef-aided tanned skin, big hair, clean faces and neutral make-up. If they weren't such bitches to Muriel, I think I would really like to be their friend, or at least know them because....

 poolside they are even cooler....

Which bring me to the point of this post, as I saw a whole lot of similarities in Emma Mulholland's new collection. A recent graduate of Ultimo TAFE, Sydney,  Mulholland's collection instantly bring to mind the colourful, fruit salad sexiness that attracted me to the Porpoise Spit girls in the first place.

The porpoises....how fitting.
